pilates is our passion
“Authentic Pilates” (taught in an individual setting, not through classes) is a modern day martial art - in that it is a practice that helps us to defend ourselves from modern woes and threats such as poor posture due to lifestyle and work conditions, apathy and sadness brought about by the ease of access to everything, and the culture of instant gratification. It is a thrilling form of mental and physical exercise where one can uncover information which has been dormant and untapped in the body. The practice of Pilates requires consistency and commitment, curiosity and willingness to learn, and an open heart and mind. Through the process, you will find the tools you need to change your body…and your mind.
Pilates is more than just the Reformer. Joseph Pilates invented over 40 different apparatus meant to help all willing bodies find the depth of the Method. At Soul Body Works, you will have access to "wundaful" pieces of apparatus such as the Wunda Chair, Arm Chair, Toe Corrector, Foot Corrector, Hand Tensometer, Tower of Power, Trapeze Table (Cadillac), and of course the all important mat. We use various props such as the magic circle to assist your body in finding length, strength, and control. All true to the Method. All for your body.
Is the method right for you? If you are not threatened by being humbled by the learning process, enjoy sinking long term into a practice, and are looking for an experience unlike any other that will translate into how you do just about everything, then you are the type of student we are looking for.
If you are ready to get started, give us a call or send a text to 817-590-8485 to schedule your initial private sessions. Alternatively, you can book your sessions HERE.
